When marketing on the internet, gaining exposure for an Internet Marketer is a difficult task. You need to set up your sales funnels, generate traffic, build relationships with your followers AND close leads into your business or sell them on your product or service. The bottom line is that internet marketing takes some serious strategies to be able to compete in this industry, let alone make money in it.
Don’t get disheartened yet, because today I’m going to share with you a couple of tips that are key internet marketing strategies you rarely hear people sharing when speaking of marketing online.
1. Share Your Story
What most people don’t realize about the internet is that although people are looking for solutions to their problems and insight on specific topics, they are also drawn to others through stories that they can identify with.
Don’t get me wrong, people do want information but, they also seek out relationships. Not in the deep sense of the word but, they like to see people who make the information real. Showing the practicality of the situation so they can see how that topic or scenario could relate to their own lives.
I’ll give you an example, someone may be seeking employment on the internet and may spend a ton of time online Googling information looking for a job. However, at the same time, in the back of their mind they’re thinking “is there any way I can do what I love while working from home and making money”.
So they then Google working from home, a video pops up or an article you have written that you created titled “How I was able to work from home doing what I love”. They spend the next 20 minutes watching your video or reading your article while picturing how your story can soon become theirs. The next thing you know, they’re opting into your website or calling the number or taking action on the call to action that you had in your video/article.
You now generated a lead from one simple strategy My Story Marketing!!
It doesn’t get any easier than that~
2: Be Yourself & Let Your Voice Be Heard
In my opinion, one of the reasons why many people struggle online is because they’re seeking approval from the “gurus” to ensure what they do is up to par and measures up to what others think is good enough.
When I first started writing articles, I remember researching site after site to make sure I was doing the right formatting, using the right words, if my keywords were acceptable and if I had a similar voice to those I had researched.
After writing a few, I realized that in order to stand out from your competition, you don’t need to be like them, you just need to be you! The truth is, there are no rules on how you say what you say and there isn’t a board of internet directors that are going to point the finger at you or write you a ticket for daring to be different.
Having a voice that’s displayed in your internet marketing is the most attractive thing you can ever commit to doing. It will draw people to you for who you really are and it will stir up a buzz around you being a “fresh voice” in the industry that people are excited about. Plus the compliments and feedback you get for being YOU, are very rewarding!
If you implement these simple strategies into your marketing efforts, you’ll find that you will never worry about generating leads or developing content.
Get used to speaking your mind, sharing your thoughts and giving your opinions even if it doesn’t fit into the status quo.
Your story sells and your personality attracts, so stop trying to fit the mold of everyone else and just let your light shine!
