10 Ways to Promote your Facebook Fan Page

10 Ways to Promote your Facebook Fan Page

Facebook is growing fast daily and if you want to attract new fans to your fan page, you’re
going to need to keep up so you can capture a percentage of that increasing number.

A Facebook fan page is imperative if you want to attract more prospects to your business.
Note, I said, fan page and not “profile” page! See previous notes regarding fan page vs profile page under ‘Showered with thoughts’

Below, I have listed 10 ways on how to promote and grow your Facebook fan base. But, remember this is just a short list; there are many ways to do this.

1. Create a Custom Welcome Tab for Your Facebook Page

Since the Static FBML app is no longer an option, installing a custom Facebook fan page tab is trickier than it used to be. But, it’s definitely something you need to have if you want to convert more visitors to your page into fans. Install a welcome/landing tab with an arrow and a call to action. I highly recommend you install a ‘fan gate’ which allows you to offer free content like webinar training videos or free training reports/e-books to your visitors when they become a fan. Update: Fan gates can only be used with Facebook ads.

2. List your Facebook fan page URL on all outgoing marketing.

If  your fan page URL is lengthy use bitly.com to shorten the link

3. Include your Fan Page URL in your E-Mail signature

This is how my I included my fan page in my e-mail signature;                                   Facebook http://artist.to/susanjane/

4. Link to Your Facebook Page in Your Profile

Include your fan page URL in your personal Facebook profile. List it under ‘about’ with your other sites (website, blog etc.).

5. List your Facebook Fan Page URL on all inbound Marketing.

A real effective way to do this is by sending out tweets on Twitter asking your followers to “come learn more” about you and your product.

6. Promote your page with a widget on your Blog.

By integrating Facebook with your blog/site using the ‘Like’ widget, people who visit your
blog will have direct access to your fan page. This is the perfect opportunity to convert your blog readers into Facebook fans!

7. Add your Facebook fan page URL to your LinkedIn profile.

This is a great place to promote your Facebook fan page. When you describe your current position and company name, add your fan page URL at the bottom of the description.

LinkedIn is an excellent way to network on a global basis and draw business to your company. If you don’t have a LinkedIn profile, you should get one.

8. YouTube Channel and Videos

Anyone already doing internet marketing knows that videos are one of the hottest ways
to connect with prospects. YouTube allows you to annotate your video with links that you can use to link back to your Facebook fan page. When your video starts to gain traction on YouTube this link can translate to significant inbound traffic to your fan page. Also include your fan page URL on your channel profile.

9. Google.

Add your Facebook fan page URL to your Google/Google+ profile.

10. Don’t be afraid to ask people to join your fan page.

There is an ‘invite friends’ tab on the right hand side of your fan page. Don’t be afraid to ask your friends to ‘like’ your fan page.

Create a buzz!!

Now you have attracted new fans to your page, you need to keep them interested.

You MUST deliver an awesome experience for those who interact with your fan page. Make your page interesting and pay attention to your fans’ needs. Offer free information,
training, tips and tricks, they need a reason to come back to your page. Go above and beyond when engaging with your community and not only will they come back, they will spread the word.
